Cheerleading skating party

Saturday we had Hailey's cheerleading skating party to finally get her trophy for the cheerleading season

 For the 2nd time, Hailey was awarded the spirit award which her teammates vote on for the most spirited and kind cheerleader who helps everyone and keeps their spirits up.  So proud of her

Friday night, Hailey, Maddie and I headed to the Field Museum for a sleepover called Dozin with the Dinos with Hailey's girl scout group

The parents - it was an interesting - if not exhausting night.  Walking the museum the whole night - sleeping in sleeping bags on the ground.  The girls loved it.

Stitches are out

At the doctor when we took them out.  They look a little crazy right here.  Hoping we are officially done with this chin.

Its broken

We headed to the orthopedist on Wednesday who looked at the X-rays and said it was broken at the growth plate.  She has to wear a splint they made for her for 4-6 weeks

We hadn't been to an urgent care or emergency room for 9.5 years.   I liked that streak.  We seem to be on a different streak.  It started in October.  Maddie broke her finger while throwing a stuffed bear.  Then Kaitlyn split her chin open - not once, but 2x.  On Saturday at basketball, Maddie jammed 2 of her fingers.  We iced and hoped it was jammed.  Her ring finger was all black and blue.  The last time when Maddie broke her finger the doctor had mentioned to me that usually when there is bruising - its broken.  I sent Kris to Urgent care.  I have been a couple times in the past couple of weeks (ER for gluing of the chin, then stitches for the chin, then wound check to make sure its healing). 

Apparently, the doctor said he would be surprised if it wasn't broken - off to X-rays she goes.  Thankfully, it is not broken, but we have to treat it the same - splint it and see an orthopedist.

Hailey got Vermont.  You can see Kris' influence on this project - for famous people -she put Phish - the band.  I am wondering if her 21 yr old clean cut teacher will even know who that is.

House

Just moving right along on the house.  We did a walk through with the plumber to talk about everything we need.  Next week we do the same with electrician and HVAC guy

 Nana wanted to get a peek.  We walked through the house.  Windows are in, completely under roof.  We have ordered the garage door

Not the way I planned my Monday

So that picture I took of the chin that was healing on Saturday.  Yeah, Sunday night at our friends house, she hit her chin on the floor (I think) and split it open again.  Sigh - was so not the way I planned to spend my day on Monday.  We got an appointment at Urgent care and they told me we needed to do stitches.  My first set of stitches.  Kaitlyn was such a trooper.  I was so amazingly proud of her.

Well, I had planned to get stuff done around the house on Monday - instead, Papa came over and swapped out the broken light/fan in Haileys room for me.  I guess something got done in the house -thanks to Papa!

Planning our spring trip with friends

We got together with our college friends to plan our trip in May.  Was fun to see the kids play together
