Madison and her random singing

She recently has taken to breaking into these random bits of song that no one can understand, but she is quite content. She dances around and seems so passionate. I only wish we knew what she was singing about!

Its mornings like this....

Kris wishes there was some testosterone in this house. He's being such a good dad and playing barbies with his girls!

Sweet and Clean

Big and Strong

One day during dinner I think I told Maddie to eat her food so she could be big and strong. She struck this pose and made this face that was pure hilarity. When we were at Nana and Papa's, I asked her to show me big and strong - this is what we got

My dad said he loves the things we are teaching her, but I gotta say, we had nothing to do with this one - must be something from school. Its pretty hilarious to watch though.

A little stop at Nana and Papa's

We were supposed to head into the city to see Andy and Erin's new son, Gage, but they cancelled at the last minute, so we still headed over to see Nana and Papa. Kris and I went out to get a quick bite to eat and the girls visited with Nana and Papa.

Hailey is nowhere to be seen since she is watching cartoons in "her room" - the room she and Maddie stay in when they spend the night at Nana and Papa's. When we were going over to their house, Hailey asked if they were staying there and I said just for a little bit and then we would come home. She said "NO, I want to stay there for 3 days". There you go Nana - she loves coming over and staying!

Sweet Sisters

The girls seem to be closer since sharing a room together. They really have taken to playing together more and just being in each others space more. It scares me to put this down on paper (so to speak) because its like asking for something to derail the progress, but Maddie is doing fabulously sleeping in the big girl bed. She goes down easily and she is not much of a mover in her sleep, so I usually find her in the exact same position in the morning. She loves being in the room with Hailey. The only bad part is sometimes Maddie likes to get Hailey up REALLY early. Hailey is the gatekeeper, literally. She has to move the gate for Maddie to get out of bed, so Maddie will wake up and yell, "Hailey, Hailey". For now, I think Hailey loves being wanted/needed and being in the big sister role. I'm just not sure how long that will last!

1st nap in big girl bed

We decided to try having Maddie sleep in Hailey's bed today for her nap. We figured we transitioned Hailey a couple months past her 2nd birthday and it seemed to work out well. Hailey's reason was more urgent of course, we needed to get her out of the crib since Maddie was coming. Madison's is not like that, (just to make sure I'm perfectly clear - no baby on the way) but we figured the timing was right and when we go to Florida in a couple of months, she'll be in a twin bed. Nap #1 went off without a hitch - we'll see how tonight goes with both girls in the same room. This could get interesting!

Christmas Pageant

Again, sorry - was behind on editing the camcorder stuff - here is the Christmas Pageant and Hailey's 4 year old preschool class at St. Pius singing. Hailey was a little freaked out on stage at the beginning until Dad caught her eye - then she got all excited. P.S - the camera work is HORRIBLE- I had only had the camera 2 days when I shot this - so I apologize upfront for how bad it is...

Practice of Christmas songs

I got a new camcorder for larger events - so I am behind on editing and posting - this was a clip of Hailey practicing her songs for her Christmas Pageant

Maddie

I truly have no words...

Blog published

I wish I had the time to scrapbook, but truly with a full time job and 2 kids - there just isn't time. The blog has become my scrapbook of sorts. For that reason, every year I publish the blog into a book, hoping that the girls will enjoy looking back through them someday. I can't believe I have 3 books so far. Needless to say, each year the book gets bigger too - oopps - I guess I need to take less pictures. I doubt that is going to happen!

Tangled

Hailey went to her first movie at a movie theater on Saturday with me and my mom (Nana). I took a quick pic before we left. Can you tell she is happy and excited?

Madison wanted her picture taken too - problem is she doesn't hold still for me to take it. As soon as I start to take it, she says, "I see, I see" and runs to my side to see the result.

Go Bears

At daycare on Friday - Hailey had her nails done in festive bears colors!

Ah - sweetness

Kris actually caught this one and said - get the camera, get the camera. So I ran downstairs to find Hailey comforting Maddie. Hailey told me Maddie's tummy hurt, so she was laying her head on me. Hailey definately loved that role.

Phases

No pictures this week, but wanted to keep my weekly update intact, so I decided I would just tell you about the girls and the phases they are in.

Hailey is all about what she is going to wear. Every morning is a disagreement about what she wants. I usually bring something down from her room and she whines "I don't want to wear that. I want to wear...." Its quite exhausting. It almost always involves her wearing a dress and she doesn't have that many dresses. She often picks out sleeveless dresses that are summer dresses. I tell you, uniform next year cannot come soon enough!

Hailey also told Kris that she has a boyfriend. She said it was a secret - then Kris told me. Her boyfriends are a boy named Christopher at St Pius and Justin Bieber. I was asking her if she played with him at school, meaning Christopher, and she said, "Mom, I've never met Justin Bieber." Oh, what a character!

Madison is exhibiting her independence lately - boy is she ever. EVERYTHING is "I DO IT!" Try to put her clothes on - I DO IT, try to help with socks - I DO IT, try to help her walk out to the car down the steps - I DO IT, and on and on and on. Don't get me wrong, its great that she wants to do things on her own - if only, it didn't take FOREVER! You have to understand, there is only so much time to get ready in the morning and she usually exhausts the time and my patience.

The two are always playing together and they have this wonderful sisterly love/hate relationship. One minute they are playing peacefully and the next thing I know screaming and crying are occurring which usually means I need to intervene. I love to watch them. It is a fascinating thing. When they are loving, it is the most beautiful thing in the world.

Sunday, lazy Sunday

Goofing around

Its been a quiet weekend - just what we needed! Therefore, not a whole lot to report or take pictures of.

Here are the girls goofing around

Sitting so peacefully

I love this picture - for the simple look of shock on Hailey's face as Madison is pushing her off the back.

Hailey is trying to get a good push in for being pushed off the back. Both were laughing so they were having a good time

The girls decided to dress up in their princess dresses and hang out in their new shop

They were admiring themselves in the mirror - I thought it was pretty cute. I can't believe how big they are. Where has the time gone?

New Years Day Party

All the Goetz's headed over for a New Years day shindig, below is Hailey, Lilly and Emma - all comparing their learning devices. The girls have leapsters and Hailey has an iXL.

The family that watches football together, stays together - Maggie, James and Patrick

Obviously the cookies were more important to my girls - the girls and Lilly

The boys watching football and the girls chatting in the kitchen.

New Years Day

To get out of the house, we went to the Springfield Mall. Hailey had gotten a gift card to build a bear. She picked out Hello Kitty and has not put her down since.

The fun bus was not so fun for Maddie. She much rather enjoyed the one that we didn't put money in to move.

The girls enjoyed the carousel

New Years Eve/Christmas

We went down to Springfield for NYE/Christmas. It was a balmy 60 some degrees out which made for a nice day to play outside.

First there was present opening and of course, then the dreaded toy packaging to deal with.

The three girls already digging into their new toys

Hanging out with Grandpa

Dad and daughter going for a walk

Ball playing, rock throwing, running around and enjoying the nice weather on the last day of December

Grandma and Maddie dancing

I think this was the only pic I really got of the girls together and I think they are running- about to run right by me

Hailey loves having someone she can hover over who doesn't fight back yet

Maddie wanted to wear the clip on earrings and this was the only place they stayed on her ears - Mrs Spock!

Hailey insisted that Maddie sit on her lap - that only lasted a couple of seconds - until Hailey realized how heavy Maddie really is
