Girls weekend

The girls got to spend the weekend with my parents while we went to the wedding. Thanks Nana and Papa!
Hailey's new barbie that she got to pick out with Nana. It went everywhere with her.

Hailey and Barbie took a nap on the slide and climbed up the slide.

Josh's birthday

At midnight after the wedding, it was Josh's birthday. We gathered in Uncle John's room - 602 for some post wedding celebration and rang in Josh's birthday.

This is Josh's birthday shot. Kris and some of his cousins made a shot for Josh. It was everything that was in the bar. I think they said, vodka, whiskey, rum, wine and beer. Poor Josh had no idea what it was.

Josh just said - "That's not Chardonnay"

That shot really did him in... Happy Birthday Josh!

Betsy and Jonathan's Wedding

We went to Kansas City this weekend for Kris' cousin Jonathan's wedding

Gymnastics - class 2

Whew - what a difference a week makes. Hailey jumped right in and about 5 minutes into the class, went to the edge of the mat (because they aren't supposed to go off the mats to their parents) and yelled, "Mom, I have to tell you something...I'm not shy anymore!" All the parents got a good laugh out of that. Then 10 minutes later, she came to the edge of the mat and said, "Mom, I need to give you a kiss" and ran off the mat to give me a kiss. By the end of the class she was crossing the balance beams by herself. She's really enjoying it!

Update on best friends

Hailey said to me yesterday, "Mommy and Daddy and Madison are my best friends, but not Molly, uh uh, cuz she eats my food". She went on to tell me, "when I'm sad, you can't be my best friend." She gets sad and mad confused sometimes. I guess I have been forewarned. It doesn't get any more honest than that! For now, we're best friends again.

Little lefty

Morning with Nana

The girls and I spent the morning with Nana. We went to the park, we played outside and Hailey colored with chalk.

Grocery Store

So it begins...

Hailey was supposed to be taking a nap and she kept coming down. I told her to go back up to her room and she told me, "Your not gonna be my best friend anymore" and went to her room. It was a dagger to the heart. She's 3! I thought I had until she was a teenager for the love - hate relationship to begin. Heaven help me!

Happy Anniversary

Wednesday was our 9th Anniversary. Kris has sent flowers to me at work in the past and it brings all kinds of questions and can be embarrassing. I won't forget the time he sent flowers when we first found out I was pregnant with Hailey. No one knew and he sent flowers to work. Everyone wanted to know what they were for and I had to make something up! Kris starts a new position at work next week, so I figured this was a perfect opportunity to embarrass him at work. I enlisted the help of some of his co-workers who actually came up with the plan. I sent the supplies and they decorated his cube with rose petals and Happy Anniversary signs. They also made all kinds of other signs. A heart shaped cookie cake was also delivered. Here are the pictures. Pretty hilarious, if I must say so myself!

Gymnastics class

Since daycare stopped tumblebears, I decided to enroll Hailey in the park district gymnastics class. Is my cautious little Hailey going to be a gymnast? Probably not - but she loves it and thats what its about at this age. The first 10 minutes of the class were painful...for me! Hailey was so shy, she wouldn't sit in the circle with the teachers or students. When any of the teachers tried to coax her in or try to talk to her, she would turn and walk away or look to me. It was brutal! After all the instructions, the kids starting playing on all the mats and other apparatus. Finally, sweet little Hailey came to life and started to have a good time. Thank God! I was fearful she was never going to jump in! Here are the pics of all of her fun...She wanted to go back today!
