First Day of Kindergarten

Hailey was so excited today, she could barely stand herself! We had to go to school early because she didn't want to wait at home anymore. She was happy to see her friends and got right in line to wait with her teachers. I barely got a hug or a goodbye, just a smile and a wave. She's so grown up. I am so excited for her!

Maddie, on the other hand, was not so happy about the day. When we dropped her off at daycare, she was on the verge of breaking down. She hugged both Hailey and I about a dozen times. She's not used to her sister going to school on her own. I know she'll be fine, but she was pretty down when we left her.

Sisterly love!

LOVE UNIFORMS!

Best Friends

This morning Hailey went to get pop tarts and since there are 2 in the package, I told her she had to give one to Maddie. When I went into the basement (where they were watching cartoons), Maddie was so happy. She said to me, "Hailey is my best friend ever!"

Baby

Naturally, there is lots of discussion about the "baby in mommys tummy". Everytime we ask Maddie what we should name the baby, she says Maddie or Madison and starts to smile. We keep telling her that she is Maddie and we can't have another one, but everytime, thats the name she comes up with. Maddie is also OBSESSED with hugging the baby. This entails lifting up my shirt and hugging my stomach. She will also lean in for a kiss or two. This is all great until she tries lifting my shirt up in public!

Diving Board

After vacation, Hailey has been pretty fearless. She has taken to the diving board. She is so funny though, she jumps in, doesn't come up for air, but starts swimming to the side. This was the first jump of the day and Grandma and Grandpa were there before they headed back to Springfield. She has a little bit of stage fright, I think. Hence, the jump directly to the side.

I lack skills as a videographer- its tough to see the screen in the bright sun!

Withdrawl?

I think Hailey is going through it. This morning, she started drawing a picture and it was a bunch of her buddies from Minocqua.

Quinlan, Hailey, Esme, Ceci, Olivia, Madison and Finn (according to Hailey)

Land

We had a great vacation. It was hectic and yet relaxing. We had a great time with family and friends and really enjoy making memories with everyone. The girls had such a great time with all the kids.

Girls were like little old ladies hanging out at the poker games

Maddie loves her Papa Youngest in Minocqua - Kieran - 3 months old

We colored some pictures that went outside the sippy cups. Here Maddie is showing hers off. I especially love the sprout on top of her head. I think it was Aimee's handiwork.

Not sure what she was so excited about -but thought the expression was great!

The kids were being kept occupied by watching the Wizard of Oz, so their parents could make dinner.
In front are Gus and Vincent and along the back - Ceci, Hailey, Olivia, Esme, Finn, Madison, Quinlan. The second picture, they are totally engrossed in the movie.

Aimee thought tie dying would be a fun project. Here we are dying the shirts. Above are Hailey's and Maddie's. I was impressed with how great they turned out!

Quinlan caught a fish off one of the piers and was showing it off to the ladies

Tubing

Hailey was terrified of going tubing. Kris kept trying to explain how fun it would be and she would love it. She truly wasn't having any of it. Then Ceci (who is 6) told Hailey it would be the greatest day of her life. Hailey finally decided to give it a try with Ceci.

Needless to say, Hailey told us it was the greatest day of her life. Hmmm, wonder where she heard that before. Then we were hassled every time she could - when are we gong tubing again?

Ski show

We went one night to the Min Aqua Bats ski show. Our group walked the trail to the ski show and the Minnesota Cronin clan went over by boat.

The girls really enjoyed it. Hailey got soaked. She was on the rocks by the shore 2 things happened - 1) when one of the skiers came by he sprayed them and 2) the waves created by the boats really came up and got them. The girls up on top of the others shoulders was one of Hailey's favorites. Maddie like the dog water skiiing.

Water

It seemed that most of the water time was spent by the girls jumping off the raft and being hoisted back up. I owe a huge debt to all the women (Katie Hickey, Annie, Katie Rose, Maureen, Megan) and Kris, who got their arm workouts lifting Hailey onto the raft so she could constantly jump off. She had a blast!
Olivia's turn Ceci's turn

Then they decided they would all go off together. It was great in theory, but not sure it really worked!

Boat

Emmett wanted to drive with Kris and then I think all the kids wanted to honk the horn.

Maddie enjoyed hanging out on the boat. She was cold in the second picture, so we put her sweatshirt on over her life jacket and she said she had a baby in her tummy.

Two goofballs were inseparable the whole week

Lots of running and jumping off the boat into the lake. Look at that form!
