Pig Tails

Hailey insisted on pigtails this morning.  The problem is they only last about 5 minutes and then she pulls them out.

and no, thats not a third pigtail - thats just the shadow...

Nana and Papa's

Kris went to DC to visit Griffin this weekend, so we spent all of Saturday at Nana and Papa's. Hailey sure loves to spend time with them.

Book Phase

We are in a book phase again.  Hailey goes in and out of these phases where we cannot read enough books.  Its non-stop right now.  She loves to go into her room in this reading area and read.  She will even read by herself in the chair.

Esme's 1st Birthday

This weekend was Esme's 1st Birthday.  Hailey got to spend a lot of time with Esme on vacation and she is one of Hailey's favorite friends.  On the way to the party she kept telling us, "I like Esme and CeCi."  These were the 2 girls Hailey hung out with the whole vacation.

Hailey couldn't give Esme enough hugs. If only she is this nice to the baby that is coming...

Hailey sure enjoyed the balloons

Hailey took a swing at the pinata, but turned right around and said Mommy - she wasn't too sure about it. She sure liked the results though. Especially when she found gummi bears!

Esme is winding down with her Grandpa and Hailey closes out the night by kissing Esme goodnight.

So many uses for a headband

My mom gave the green shrek ears to Hailey probably more than a year ago, but they just surfaced from the toy box. Hailey puts them on many ways.

Hailey calls these her green pigtails when she puts them on her head

Here she wears them as a belt

Lastly, she told me these were her glasses

Going to the store

Hailey has been so imaginative lately. Here she is all ready to "go to the store" to get Mommy and Daddy some gummi bears. Kris and I didn't know she had ever had gummi bears! She has her baby in the stroller and her purse on her shoulder and that hat is for a baby, but she has insisted on wearing it today! She is quite the character!

She looks so sweet and innocent....

looks can be so deceiving!

This weekend

The weekend belonged to the weather.  It rained and rained and rained some more.  We woke up on Saturday to find we didn't have power and then since we didn't have power and it was pouring that the lower basement had water. Kris ended up tracking down a generator to plug the sump pump into, but he still had to clean up the water.  If there's any silver lining, it's that its our lower basement, which is just the workout room.  I suppose that's easy for me to say since I didn't clean it up!

On Sunday it was still raining, but Hailey was tired of being cooped up indoors, so she decided it was a perfect opportunity for a bike ride.

Then she decided to hang out in her chair and watch the rain from the comfort of the garage.

Other News

On Sunday we went to my parents for dinner - it was for my Grandma Geary's 92nd birthday. I brought the camera, but never really broke it out and took any pictures.

Monday, I had another ultrasound. Baby is still growing and it is still a girl. For those who don't know why I say that, I wasn't truly convinced it was a girl. Second time I have seen her and it looked pretty clear. She is measuring about 4 lbs 6 oz according to the ultrasound tech. I guess thats a little big for the amount of weeks. Hailey was 8 lbs 9 oz, so I only expect that this one will be bigger. So, we have a little more than 7 weeks left (if we go full term). Kris and I better start agreeing on some names or the poor thing could be stuck with Ottoette!

Block Party

We only went to the block party for a little while - we had a party to go to and Hailey went to Nana and Papa's.  Hailey didn't want to go on the firetruck, but here is a picture of her in front of it and then the neighborhood kids.

Zoo

The company my mom works for rented out Brookfield Zoo for their employees and families on Friday night. Everything was free and all the exhibits were open. It was a really cool night.

Papa tries to pet the Stingrays in the Stingray Bay Exhibit

Only Hailey would come to the Zoo to find a park. We had to tear her away - thank goodness there weren't any swings.

Hailey wanted to go on the carousel, but when she and Daddy got on, she didn't want to anymore. She is crying as the carousel goes round and round. It was the end of the night...
