Skating party and trophies for cheerleading

The girls had a skating party.  Not sure either of them has ever been roller skating.  Maddie didn't make it long on the actual rink.  She spent her time on the carpet going back and forth.  She told me the rink was too slippery.  I went on the rink with her but that didn't last.

 Seems happy enough

Hailey made her way slowly around with the help of the walls.  She eventually got brave enough to go without the wall

 Brave!

Hailey got the spirit award (1 of only 2 special awards).  She was shocked, which was really cute.

Dinner out

Best part is the dessert….

Hailey and her friend Keri - we had a marathon playdate
Maddie actually turned it over to try and get every last drop!

Uggghhh

Hailey has been complaining about her ankle and I kind of blew it off until she wouldn't put her heel down when she was walking.  Took her to the doctor and we have a case of achilles tendonitis.  No activities for 2 weeks and icing, ibuprofen regimen and hope it improves with rest.

Playing during tumbling

Hailey and Maddie have tumbling on Thursday and this is what K does

Basketball season started

Maddie started basketball for the first time - they have practice for a couple of weeks before they have a game.  She is one of 2 girls on the team.

Got her first jammed finger too
Hailey had her first game - she plays on a 3rd-4th grade team and its amazing the difference from last year.  It seems much more competitive.  They won their game.  Hailey is a pretty good defender

Many faces of Kaitlyn

They're multiplying

Legos, Legos, Legos

For the record, I HATE legos.  There, I said it.  I get that they are great for the girls for building and following the directions and all that, but I hate the little pieces and once they build the items -they just sit there.
Ella and Hailey started on this
 This was the finished product
Maddie wanted to go and get a set
We got Kaitlyn some so she wouldn't smash her sisters
 This was Hailey helping her

This was Hailey's little lifeguard stand
This was Maddie's car and camper finished product

Goofy Kaitlyn

I asked Kaitlyn what she was doing and she said - I put water on my hair because it was so crazy and so I could be beautiful.  Oh geez - help me!

Playdate

On Saturday after basketball practice, Elle came over for a playdate

Maddie's 1st sleepover

We told Maddie she needed to wait until she was 6 for her first sleepover.  Needless to say she has been bugging us since then to have her first sleepover.  This weekend she had it with her friend Chloe at her house.
 Doing some crafts
 eating some pizza
 watching some TV
 Donuts!
They have their jumpy up in their basement -so they got to play indoors
 Waffles
Meanwhile, at our house, Hailey had Ella (Chloe's older sister) sleep over. They had to make cookies with the new oven
 They are doing their crafts
 Watching a movie
Their cookies - didn't turn out that great - but apparently they tasted AMAZING, they said.

Both sets of girls had a good time and 1st sleepover is in the books for Maddie - now we can avoid one for a while.
